Microorganisms cause a number of diseases. They can be transmitted from one person to another by following unhygienic procedures. Some of the dangerous infections that can be transmitted this way include HIV and hepatitis. To avoid cross-infection it is very important to use clean and sterile instruments. Sterilization is the procedure by which all microorganisms on the instrument can be killed.
To provide a very sterile atmosphere we use disposable syringes, aprons and cups for individual patients. All the instruments are cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner and the instruments are then sterilized in a hospital-grade autoclave in disposable pouches with indicator strips. Sterilized instruments are stored in an ultraviolet chamber and the pouches are opened in front of the patients before the procedure. Glass bead sterilizer for chairside sterilization, and cold sterilization is also used to provide a clean setting for the treatment. We also make sure that we use distilled water for all purposes, including the water used in the dental chair pipeline.
